University Club of Boston

Renovations to the historic University Club of Boston involved updating and enlarging the bar area to include a welcoming lounge space and private dining room to encourage corporate meetings and private functions. The swimming pool area was completely renovated, with additions of a sauna and whirlpool spa as well as new changing rooms, lockers, and a childcare center. By carving unused space over the interior pool, Meyer & Meyer’s design allowed the club to acquire over 3,000 square feet of free and valuable function space. A new state-of-the-art boardroom, which doubles as a private dining room, was added over a section of the original swimming pool. This design allowed for new space to expand the Club, otherwise landlocked in the Back Bay. The remodeling required extensive mechanical and structural coordination within the existing conditions.
